Major new website to promote renewable energy

Cyberium has just launched a brand new website that will help businesses in Ceredigion, Wales access advice and funds to save energy and money, not to mention reduce their carbon footprint.

With energy prices rising, but support available from the government, recent evidence from Carbon Trust Advisory shows that the return on a sensible investment in renewable technology would average 11-12%, with the potential for returns of over 20%.

To help companies take advantage of this incredible opportunity we've produced, with long-time client and partner Ecodyfi and Severn Wye Energy Agency (SWEA), the Ynni i Yfynni website (Renewable Energy for Business Growth).

The site includes an easily usable CMS, news widget, events widget, three databases made with 30,000 lines of hand-coding, a customisable search engine that lets the owner find out what topics people using the site are interested in, and a Twitter and Facebook feed.

The databases are to hold details of clients, renewable energy installers and suppliers of energy efficiency services, and to let new ones register through the site. They have separate logins for each sector, with personal pages for each one which they can access once registered and given a password.

The clients will receive a free energy audit as part of the service and this is one of the things that is downloadable in their personal area. They can also browse the other two databases for nearby suppliers and installers.

Project manager Mike Brain, of SWEA said of the website "I must say that this exceeds my expectations".

Cyberium also designed the logo and produced branding materials incuding Word and Powerpoint templates.

The whole project cost the client less than £5000, not least because Cyberium is not VAT-registered any more, making us 20% cheaper than competitors.
